City of Sound

City of Sound [via Plasticbag] is a new addition to my blog roll. Written by Dan Hill, it’s a London-centric weblog with a somewhat grand raison d’tre:

[to focus on] what information designers and information architects could learn from the way cities and buildings work, with particular reference points around adaptive design, architecture, interaction design, the user experiences around music and radio, emergence, new media colliding with old media, e-government – that sort of thing.

And it succeeds. Dipping into the recent archives reveals such gems as The Fall and Rise of the Magazine Cover?, Remembering signs and lettering, Adaptive Design Presentation and Four exhibitions, London reminding me that one third of my life is spent in the centre of one of the great metropoli, yet all I see is the inside of an office – I really must ‘do’ London more.

“I really must ‘do’ London more.”

I know exactly what you mean. I haven’t even been on the Eye yet! One day I am going to take a week’s holiday in London, stay in a hotel and “do” everything.
