Day 8 of our ride from John o’Groats to Land’s End took us from Preston to Shrewsbury. It was a thoroughly nondescript day that involved savouring the sights of Wigan and Warrington and endless hedges. That said some nice people at a set of traffic lights gave us a cash donation which was jolly decent.
It says something that we only had two breaks today, compared to the normal three. A day for just getting the job done, albeit in glorious sunshine. Sue in her tireless support role laid on quiche and fruit cake for lunch, and was a real treat to meet up with family at the end of the day, who’d travelled across the Mildands from Coventry to join us for a beer.
