Russ Wealkley of Max Design has created Listamatic, a great resource showing how to apply CSS styles to lists. There’s heaps of examples with the CSS exposed, including a version of my own tabs as a list effort. What’s more, it’s in the spirit of the Zen Garden meaning you are invited to submit your own design for a simple list. Great stuff – the only thing it’s lacking is confirmation of browser support for each of the examples [update: Russ assures me that a browser support section is on its way].

The listamatic now has additional info such as “External resources”, “Why use lists for site navigation?”, “Browsers types and lists”, “The IE box model and Doctype modes” and most importantly (and most frequently requested) a browser support chart.

Another list thingy.
Listutorial takes you through the basics of building CSS lists with “background images for bullets” and “simple rollovers” with a few variations along the way.
